Prof Kathi Kæppel

Prof Kathi Kæppel teaches and researches as a visiting professor for the design of the moving image at the Berlin University of the Arts. She previously taught at the weißensee kunsthochschule berlin, the Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts Design, Film & Art, among others. She will be joining the Folkwang University of the Arts as Professor of Moving Image in summer 2024. Prof Kæppel has received numerous awards, film and project funding and has been a scholarship holder of the DAAD, the Fulbright Commission and the Freedom Foundation. At the center of Kathi Kæppel's artistic practice lies the creation and artistic use of the moving image. Since 2018, her artistic work has been embedded in a scientific-artistic PhD at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, as well as in the interdisciplinary research project at the Lucerne School of Art and Design ‘Moving in Every Direction—Artistic Research as a Contribution to the Development of Current Spatial Configurations for the Moving Image’.
