FAQ

What can be seen in the area of the LAS Edition?

Growing in the forecourt of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, the LAS-commissioned garden features more than 7,000 plants of 80 different varieties, planted over a 722-square-metre plot. Spanning across six beds, it is the first commissioned Pollinator Pathmaker Edition outside of the UK. It consists of plants suitable for this area that provide pollen and nectar over the year to many types of pollinators. The design of this garden takes into account the various ways that different pollinators forage, the plants that provide them with the best sources of food, and the seasons in which they are active.

Are visitors free to move around the area of the Garden or is there a suggested order to experience the Artwork?

There is no prescribed order to experience the LAS Edition in. It can be accessed from all sides of the forecourt of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. Pathways lead across the two main areas of the forecourt, allowing visitors to walk along the flowerbeds. Visitors can find information about the artwork and its various components on outdoor signs close to the Museum’s entrance.

Will there be guided tours for visitors?

There are no regular guided tours for visitors. However, this August, the curator of the LAS Edition of Pollinator Pathmaker, Sophie Korschildgen, offers free guided tours through Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg’s living sculpture for pollinators in front of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. Guided tours will be held in German or English on the following Fridays in August: 8 August, 15 August, 22 August and 29 August.

How long will the Pollinator LAS Edition be exhibited?
